How leveling works on ConquestRO: the rates, the caps, the three phases of a character's life, and every rule that decides how fast your exp bar moves. For where to hunt, see the Leveling Guide โ this page explains the system.
๐ Server Rates & Caps
| Value | |
|---|---|
| Base EXP rate | 50ร |
| Job EXP rate | 50ร |
| MVP bonus EXP rate | 1ร (the mob's own MVP bonus, not multiplied) |
| Quest EXP rate | 1ร |
| Max base level | 160 (every class) |
| Max stats (STR/AGI/VIT/INT/DEX/LUK) | 120 (80 for baby classes) |
| Levels per kill | 1 maximum โ no kill can ever grant more than one level |
| Level-gap penalty | None โ a low-level mob pays the same whatever your level is |
โ ๏ธ About that "5000" you may have seen: rAthena stores rates as percentages, so the config value
base_exp_rate: 5000means 5000% = 50ร, not 5000ร. Same for job exp.mvp_exp_rate: 100means 100% = 1ร. Any older figure on this page that assumed 5000ร was 100 times too high and has been corrected.
Job level caps:
| Class | Max Job |
|---|---|
| Novice / High Novice | 10 |
| 1st classes / High 1st classes | 50 |
| 2nd classes | 50 |
| Transcendent 2nd classes | 70 |
| Gunslinger, Ninja, Taekwon, Star Gladiator, Soul Linker | 70 |
| Super Novice / Super Baby | 99 |
๐ฃ Phase 1 โ The First Life (fast-forward to rebirth)
Your first run as a 1st/2nd class is deliberately a formality: base levels 1โ98 and all 1st/2nd class job levels are cut to roughly 1/50th of the normal exp, on top of the 50ร rates. Reaching 99 costs a non-rebirth class only 8.1 million exp in total, and even carrying straight on to 100 is just 113 million โ about 1/15th of a single top-MVP kill. A fresh character reaches 99/50 almost as fast as you can clear maps โ get to the Valkyrie, rebirth, and start your real life as a transcendent class.
๐ฆ Phase 2 โ The Rebirth Run (1โ99)
After rebirth, High Novice through your transcendent class levels on the normal tables at 50ร โ quick, but no longer trivial. The whole base climb to 99 costs 1.21 billion exp (1.57 billion if you push straight through to 100), which is still less than one top-MVP kill. This is the classic run to 99/70 that the Leveling Guide maps out spot by spot.
๐๏ธ Phase 3 โ The Prestige Climb (100โ160)
Past 99 the game changes completely โ but the cost no longer snowballs. Every level from 100 to 160 costs exactly the same: 336,666,633,000 base exp. Level 159 is no harder than level 100, and rebirth and non-rebirth classes now pay the identical amount.
| Value | |
|---|---|
| Cost of every level, 100 โ 160 | 336,666,633,000 base exp |
| โ Top-MVP (Beelzebub) kills per level | 200 |
| Whole climb 100 โ 160 | 20.2 trillion base exp |
| โ Top-MVP kills for the whole climb | 12,000 |
| Applies to | All classes โ transcendent and non-rebirth alike |
๐งพ Read this before you commit to 12,000 MVP kills: levels 100โ160 give you stat points and nothing else.
Base HP and base SP are flat from level 100 onward. A level-160 character has exactly the same base HP and base SP as a level-99 character of the same class โ a Knight sits at 7,978 base HP and 307 base SP at level 99, at level 130 and at level 160 alike. What the climb pays out is 1,732 extra status points (see ๐ช Stat Points & the 120 Cap further down). No HP, no SP, no free ASPD โ points.
Why flat, plainly: ConquestRO is a WoE server, and base HP is a direct PvP number. Carrying each job's own HP curve on to 160 would have given a Knight roughly 16,900 base HP โ about 2.1ร a level-99 Knight โ which is a large WoE balance change nobody asked for. Holding the value flat removes the problem below and changes nothing else. It is a deliberate, conservative choice, and it can be revisited โ openly, not quietly.
โ ๏ธ The problem it removes: every job's HP/SP table used to stop at level 99 while the level cap said 160, so the server filled the missing levels with its fallback formula. A Knight that reached level 100 would have had its base HP recomputed as 535 โ a 93% collapse that never recovered. Crusader, Assassin and Monk were the same story. Nobody ever hit it, because the old exp wall meant nobody could pass 99; the exp retune is what would have armed it. All 51 HP/SP tables now run explicitly from level 1 to level 160, with no gap and no step at 99 โ 100.
This is a huge cut, for everyone. The old 100+ table was built on a misread of the rate: the config value 5000 was taken to mean 5000ร when it actually means 5000% = 50ร. The table was therefore priced for a server running rates it has never run. Fixing that meant rewriting the whole 100โ160 stretch, and the relief you actually receive is the size of that rewrite โ shown in the last column below. Nobody was nerfed:
| Class type | Old Lv100 cost | New Lv100 cost | Easier by |
|---|---|---|---|
| Transcendent | 16.7 trillion (9,921 kills) | 336.7 billion (200 kills) | 49.6ร |
| Non-rebirth | 5.0 trillion (2,970 kills) | 336.7 billion (200 kills) | 14.9ร |
Across the full 100 โ 160 road the old table demanded 1,617,622 top-MVP kills from a transcendent and 484,316 from a non-rebirth class. Both are now 12,000 โ a 135ร and 40ร reduction respectively.
๐ Who counts as "non-rebirth"? Everyone who is not a transcendent class โ the 1st and 2nd classes on their first life, every baby class, Super Novice and Super Baby, Taekwon, Star Gladiator, Soul Linker, and permanently Gunslinger and Ninja, neither of which can ever rebirth. All of them share one exp table, so all of them got the 14.9ร cut.
โ๏ธ Why 100+ Is an MVP Activity
Nothing in the exp table forces you onto MVPs. The mobs do:
| Kill | Exp to a solo taker (base ร 50 + MVP bonus) | Kills for one level (100โ160) |
|---|---|---|
| Beelzebub (highest-exp mob on the server) | 1,683,333,165 | 200 |
| Lord Knight Seyren (second-richest MVP) | 1,220,989,000 | 276 |
| Legendary Pokรฉmon roamer (richest farmable non-MVP kill) | 50,000,000 | 6,734 |
Richest Class: Normal monster (top wild Pokรฉmon) |
6,000,000 | 56,112 |
"Best normal mob" needs saying precisely. The 6,000,000 figure is the ceiling for Class: Normal monsters โ ordinary, freely-respawning field and dungeon mobs, the things you kill by the hundred. The richest of them on ConquestRO are wild Pokรฉmon, not classic RO mobs: Dragapult, Kommo-o, Golisopod, Wishiwashi (School), Goodra, Gigalith, Volcarona, Hydreigon, Haxorus, Conkeldurr, Snorlax, Mamoswine, Garchomp, Salamence and 22 species in total all sit at the ceiling of 120,000 base exp, which is 6,000,000 at the 50ร rate. (The old classic-RO record holders โ Woomawang and the Bio Lab humanoids at 100,000 โ 5,000,000 โ were overtaken by the Pokรฉmon roster and are no longer the richest normal kill on the server.)
One Beelzebub is worth 280.56 of those kills. That gap โ not the exp requirement โ is why the prestige climb is run on MVP circuits. Every ordinary hunting spot is technically viable and hopelessly slow: at the very best normal mob on the server you would need 56,112 kills for a single level, and 3,366,667 for the whole 100 โ 160 road.
But there is a tier in between, and most people don't know it exists. A monster can be Class: Boss without being an MVP โ it carries the boss immunities, but there is no MVP bonus, no MVP announcement and no MVP drop roll; the whole reward is raw monster exp. The richest ones you can actually farm are the legendary Pokรฉmon roamers:
| Legendary roamers | |
|---|---|
| How many | 92 in the rotation โ 38 legendaries/mythicals at 1,000,000 base exp โ 50,000,000 a kill, and 54 at 500,000 โ 25,000,000 |
| Class | Boss, but not MVP โ the whole reward is the raw monster exp |
| How they appear | A background script sweeps every 5 minutes and respawns any roamer that is dead and off cooldown, as one copy, server-wide, on one of three possible maps โ so you never know which of the three it picked |
| Cooldown after a kill | 12 hours for 69 of them; 24 hours for the 23 mythicals โ Mew, Arceus, Darkrai, Deoxys, Jirachi, Victini, Manaphy, Shaymin, Marshadow, Volcanion, Zarude, Zeraora, Diancie, Genesect, Hoopa, Keldeo, Magearna and Meloetta, counting their alternate forms |
| Kills per level | 6,734 at the 50,000,000 tier ยท 13,467 at the 25,000,000 tier |
| Beelzebub is worth | 33.7 of the 50,000,000 kills |
At 50,000,000 a kill a legendary roamer is 8.3ร the best Class: Normal mob and the richest non-MVP kill that respawns in the open world. Exactly four non-MVP monsters on the entire server pay more, and not one of them respawns on a map you can walk to: Entweihen Crothen (135,000,000) and Naght Sieger (200,000,000) on the deep floors of Endless Tower (one run per character per week), Great Demon Baphomet (226,000,000) at the end of the Sealed Shrine instance (12-hour cooldown), and Satan Morocc (335,000,000), a one-off summon at the end of the Morocc quest chain. Roamers are genuinely worth stopping for, and they drop shards on top of the exp (see the Wild Pokรฉmon list for maps and respawn timers).
๐ Are they a real alternative to Bloody Branch? No โ and here is the arithmetic instead of a hand-wave. Run the whole roster flat out and the entire server can produce roughly 71 legendary kills and 90 lesser-legendary kills a day: about 5.8 billion exp per day, for everybody combined. That is 1.7% of one level. If a single player somehow killed every roamer the server spawned, every day, with zero competition, one level would take about 58 days and the full 100 โ 160 climb about 9.5 years. For comparison, 33 Bloody Branches โ 66,000,000z, a couple of minutes of shopping โ are worth the same exp as the server's entire daily legendary output.
Treat roamers as found money: kill them on sight, take the shard, and fund the actual climb with branches.
How the Beelzebub figure is built: the mob pays 33,333,330 base exp ร 50 = 1,666,666,500, plus its MvpExp field of 16,666,665 at the 1ร MVP rate โ so the MVP bonus adds only about 1% on top of the kill, not 5ร.
๐ Assumption behind the 200: that is the solo MVP-taker benchmark โ one player taking the full base exp and the MVP bonus, with no party split, no EXP boosters and no Guild Trait EXP bonus. In a party you clear far more bosses per hour, but the base exp is split by damage dealt, so your personal share per kill is smaller.
โ ๏ธ Beelzebub has two forms. The first one (the one that splits) pays zero exp โ all of the reward is on the second form it metamorphoses into. Kill it properly.
Level 160 is a badge, not a requirement โ a maxed 99 trans character is fully WoE-ready. The climb is there for the ones who want the summit.
๐ฟ Where the MVPs Actually Come From
"200 Beelzebub a level" is a unit of measurement, not a route. Nobody finds 12,000 Beelzebub lying around. Here is the honest supply picture.
Natural spawns are nowhere near enough:
| Source | What it actually gives | Reality check |
|---|---|---|
Cursed Abbey 3 (abbey03) |
1 Beelzebub | Its only natural spawn anywhere on the server. It respawns 12 hours after each kill, plus up to 10 minutes of random variance โ one spawn, server-wide, first come first served. |
| Endless Tower, floor 95 | 1 Beelzebub | Instance content: 1-week cooldown per character, a 4-hour time limit, and you have to fight through 94 floors to reach it. |
| Bossnia | โ | Commented out of scripts_athena.conf โ not running on this server. |
| MVP Room | โ | Commented out of scripts_custom.conf โ not running. |
| MVP Ladder | โ | Commented out of scripts_custom.conf โ not running. |
Add those up and the natural supply is two Beelzebub a day for the entire server, plus one a week per character in Endless Tower. Against 12,000 kills for a single character's climb, waiting on spawns is not a plan โ it is not even a rounding error. We are not going to pretend otherwise.
The climb is fed by summons. The real engine of the prestige climb is the Bloody Branch:
| Bloody Branch | |
|---|---|
| Price | 2,000,000z |
| Sold by | Every Tool Dealer (first menu option) in Prontera, Morocc, Payon, Geffen, Alberta, Izlude, Al De Baran, Comodo, Yuno, Amatsu, Umbala, Louyang, Ayothaya, Einbroch, Lighthalzen, Hugel, Moscovia, Xmas and the main town hub โ plus every standard town Tool Dealer shop |
| Alternative | TCG Trader (mainprt 220,192) โ 1 TCG Card โ 10 Bloody Branch. TCG Cards are the donation credit currency (see Credit Manager) |
| Where it works | Field maps only โ any map with fild in its name, plus the Mjolnir fields. Towns, dungeons and instances are blocked, gef_fild13 (the WoE field) is blocked, and so are man_fild01, man_fild02 and moc_fild22b. Use it anywhere else and the branch is handed straight back to you with a message. |
| What it summons | One MVP drawn from a pool of 44 |
โ ๏ธ The plain Dead Branch does nothing here. On ConquestRO item 604 is an ordinary Etc item with no summon script attached. Only the Bloody Branch (12103) summons anything.
Beelzebub is 1 of the 44 in that pool, at roughly 1 in 45 (2.2%) per branch โ 45 rather than 44 because Atroce is weighted double, so the pool rolls 45 shares across 44 monsters. An actual Beelzebub therefore costs about 45 branches โ 90,000,000z on average. But the other 43 entries in the pool are not wasted rolls, and that is the point: seven of them pay enormous exp in their own right.
| Roll | Base + MVP exp at 50ร / 1ร |
|---|---|
| Beelzebub | 1,683,333,165 |
| Nidhoggr's Shadow | 1,212,000,000 |
| Memory of Thanatos | 925,665,000 |
| Ifrit | 796,466,050 |
| Valkyrie Randgris | 720,862,250 |
| Ktullanux | 686,812,625 |
| Kiel D-01 | 594,940,500 |
| the median roll โ half of every branch pays less than this. The pool's 44 outcomes split between Orc Lord (15,706,760) and Stormy Knight (16,248,375), and weighting the pool by roll share lands the midpoint exactly on Stormy Knight | 15,977,568 (midpoint of the 44) ยท 16,248,375 (roll-weighted) |
| worst rolls (Ghostring, Angeling, Deviling) | 5,050 โ 10,550 โ you want those three for the card, not the exp |
Those seven are only 15.6% of rolls yet they carry 85% of the exp. Averaged across the whole pool, one Bloody Branch is worth about 175 million exp to a solo taker (base exp plus the MVP bonus). Which gives the number that actually matters:
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Average exp per Bloody Branch (solo taker) | โ 175 million |
| Branches for one level, 100 โ 160 | โ 1,926 |
| Zeny for one level, at 2,000,000z a branch | โ 3.85 billion |
| Branches for the whole 100 โ 160 climb | โ 115,500 |
| Zeny for the whole climb | โ 231 billion |
๐ Read that honestly. The "12,000 Beelzebub" figure earlier on this page is a yardstick, not a forecast โ it is what the climb costs measured in the single best kill in the game. What you will really do is kill roughly 115,500 assorted MVPs, and the bill is paid in zeny and TCG Cards, not in patience at a 12-hour spawn timer. Party up: the branch cost is per branch, not per person, and every extra attacker adds exp on top.
The upside nobody puts in the exp table: 115,500 summoned MVPs is also 115,500 MVP drop rolls โ cards, God-item materials and gear that fund the next stack of branches. See the Farming Guide for turning that loot back into zeny.
๐ช Stat Points & the 120 Cap
Leveling past 99 is the whole reward for the climb โ stat points are the only thing levels 100โ160 hand out:
- Total status points: 1,273 by level 99 โ 3,005 by level 160 โ the climb hands you exactly 1,732 extra points.
- โค๏ธ Base HP and base SP do not move. From level 100 to level 160 they hold at their level-99 value for every class โ a level-160 Knight has the same 7,978 base HP and 307 base SP as a level-99 Knight. Gear, cards, VIT and INT still do everything they always did; the level simply stops contributing. See the note in ๐๏ธ Phase 3 above for why that is deliberate on a WoE server.
- Every stat can be raised to 120 (baby classes cap at 80). ConquestRO uses the pre-renewal cost curve โ each point costs
1 + (stat + 9) / 10โ so going from 99 to 120 costs 259 points for a single stat. - โ ๏ธ The summit does not cap everything. Taking all six stats from scratch to 120 costs 5,322 points, and level 160 only ever hands you 3,005 in total. Six stats at 120 is not reachable on any class. What the climb buys you is a much deeper spread โ roughly 1,732 extra points to pour into the two or three stats your build actually lives on.
โ๏ธ Good-to-Know Mechanics
- ๐ฅ Party up: every additional attacker on a monster adds +25% exp, counting up to 12 attackers (so +275% at the cap) โ shared hunting out-levels solo play. Exp is then split by damage dealt.
- ๐ No level-gap penalty: the exp modifier that shrinks your reward when a monster is far below your level is a renewal-only feature. ConquestRO is a pre-renewal server and that code is not compiled in at all, so a level-20 mob pays a level-160 character exactly what it pays a level-20 one.
- ๐ค Auto Combat: the Auto-Attack Device applies no penalties โ full EXP and full drops, same as manual play.
- ๐ Death: dying costs 1% of your current level's base and job exp. At max base level you lose nothing.
- ๐ฐ Guild levels: a levelled guild grants an EXP Rate bonus up to +20% โ see the Guild Level System.
- ๐ EXP boosters (Battle Manual-type items, event buffs) multiply your gains as usual โ they matter most on the 100+ climb.
- ๐ฏ No per-kill exp cap: there is no limit on how much of your exp bar a single kill may fill โ but multi-level-up is off, so one kill can still never give more than one level. At 200 kills a level, that no longer matters.
